Description
The Presto range of Hi-Nox drills has been designed to be used on Stainless Steel. Many Stainless Steels are different and unpredictable metals to machine i,e some described as "free cutting" can create extreme problems in work hardening, heat generation and swarf control. Hi-Nox overcomes all these issues. Manufactured in High Speed Steel M2 to Jobber Length (BS328, DIN338) with a special length short flute, it is designed to give a cutting or effective depth of hole up to 4 times diameter. A helix angle of 38° gives greater swarf control, with thinner than standard web at the point for accurate positioning. Higher feed rates are achievable due to a rapid back taper for one diameter of the Drill which increase to "greater than standard" web dimensions. The combination of point, web taper and flute shape provide unique geometry that curls and splits swarf whist also improving coolant access. The narrow chisel edge provides easier starting and uses less torque
